目前國內所有軍用傳統地圖與電子地圖，均由位於台中的軍備局401 兵工廠製造。此次高雄前鎮發生嚴重氣爆，401廠人員於第一時間繪製災區街道圖，且將地下管路、爆炸災情等資訊整合入圖內，提供現場軍警救災使用。此外廠方也運用3D雷射掃描儀，配合點雲（point cloud）演算技術，繪製成氣爆現場的3D立體影片，此處所示為8月2日清晨，爆炸災情最嚴重的凱旋三路現場狀況。
