強國崛起，流失國寶不贖而回。有分析認為，皮諾家族捐鼠、兔獸首是配合法國總統歐蘭德的訪華行程，希望中國多採購法國產品，以解法國經濟危機。

新華社報導，歐蘭德此程經濟至上，法方向中方推銷核電和汽車設備等，中方前日簽約向法購買60架空中巴士客機，總值80億美元。歐蘭德甚至討好中國說：「來到中國，我不怕吃雞肉。大家對法國的豬肉也不要怕，我們希望多賣一些火腿、臘腸之類的產品給中國。」
